Special Sessions > Art & Science/Call for Poster Nano

Scientific communication through posters is an essential tool for sharing research results at conferences, symposiums, and other academic events.

But how can you create a scientifically effective poster that is visually appealing and captures the interest of conference participants?

As part of the C’Nano 2025 congress, we offer eight (8) PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in the field of nanosciences and nanotechnologies the opportunity to explore the co-construction of a scientific poster with the supervision of students from the École Estienne (École supérieure des arts et industries graphiques).

How: After selecting the received applications, the 8 recipients will each work with a pair of students from the École Estienne’s DSAA Scientific Illustration Design and DSAA Digital Design and Creation programs, to design and produce their scientific poster. The format of the poster will not be limited to simple graphics; more structured formats with animations are possible. The students from the École Estienne will act as mentors, but the creation of the posters must be entirely carried out by the recipients.

Application deadline: Send your applications by 28/10/2024 to cnano_com@cnrs.fr.

Project start: The project will begin in early October. You will meet your partner to discuss your research topic, immerse yourself in their expertise, and finally work on the design and production of your poster.

The 8 posters will be presented during a dedicated session at the C’Nano 2025 congress. A special prize will be awarded to the best poster in this category.

Privilege: The recipients will be invited to the C’Nano 2025 congress, which will take place in Paris from March 18 to 21, 2025.

The project: This initiative is part of the "Agora des Nanos" project, which explores the transmission of knowledge and the limits of scientific communication through practice.

Design and coordination by Giancarlo Rizza (CEA-École Polytechnique) in partnership with C’Nano. In collaboration with the Arts and Sciences Chair (École Polytechnique, École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD), and the Danièle and Nina Carasso Foundation), the École Estienne, Ruedi and Vera Baur (Dix-milliards-humains and the Civic-city association), and the Théâtre de la Ville de Paris.
